Motu vs uad M4 has a better direct monitoring setup with a blend knob to adjust your ratio of direct-DAW output. I was able to find those you mentioned Motu 2408 and Motu 8A along with the Arturia Audiofuse x8 and x16. It's just a no frills interface that is reliable, sounds great, has decent functionality and looks pretty nice. I really like the sound of it, but there is an insane white noise it generates when engaged at any setting. Got the Motu M2 (got a nice deal on a refurbished one from Amazon Warehouse, that looked in mint condition even though it said it could have some tiny scratches in the bottom or back). Your money on UA stuff doesn't go towards stellar converters or even good preamps design, it goes towards the software and DSP chips.
